Characterization of Teflon polymer based gaskets under expedited aging is the objective this work. are exploited frequently as a replacement to asbestos fiber because their excellent leak tightness and nonhazardous physical degradation properties. The research focuses profoundly on adverse influence temperature thermal cycles creep cumulative damage phenomenon compressive load. Virgin expanded PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (PTFE) tested 28 41 MPa gasket stress at different temperatures. Intricate analysis coalesces ratcheting principal achieved through Universal Gasket Rig (UGR). instigated distinguishable into upper lower bound region indicating escalation decrease thickness change during cycling which saturates after 12 for PTFE while no saturation reached virgin in even 20 cycles. Percentage reduction applied nearly same whereas shows largest stress. Compressive bespeaks impact load, thereby dictating magnitude contrariwise.
